Valentines Day is OLD. The day is named after early Christian martyrs, Saint Valentine, and was established by Pope Gelasius in 496 AD.
Sometimes it is mispronounced; Valentimes Day. Silly.
As a kid, I loved those tiny little cards that we all exchanged in school.
A great Simpson's episode has dopey Ralph Wiggum giving Lisa, whom he is in love with, this great card:
Florists enjoy the day, too, although it entails lots of work. We have a great florist right here in Putnam!
Lillium Florist actually has 2 locations (one in Danielson and one in Putnam). They delivered birthday flowers from my mom to me last year, and Christmas flowers from my sister this past December. BEAUTIFUL! I drive and jog past the Putnam location often, and it always looks beautiful and inviting. It smells great when you enter! The colors are uplifting in every season.
