History runs deep in Putnamania and all throughout New England!

New England has a rather rich history, and each area carries their own encyclopedia of facts and certainly some fiction.

Last November I read a book about the Mayflower, and the voyage to the "New World". The things our forefathers went through simply amazes me, since I am certainly a girl who loves the modern day conveniences such as heat, bathrooms, cars, etc... They were a lot tougher than me!

The town I grew up in Rhode Island has a facebook page, North Kingstown Facts and History.
It is great to see the old pictures posted and to read of the town's interesting past.

A guy I went to elementary school with wrote a book on the "village" of Davisville that I grew up in, titled simply Davisville, RI, The History of the Mill Village. Pretty cool to know what went on back in the day!

Now as I am learning about my town of Putnam, I am lucky to have the source of the Aspinock Historical Society.

Our local radio station, WINY Radio also does a weekly Friday morning show, titled "Remember When". It is quite fun to listen to and learn from as well!

People love to reminisce, so enjoy some of it yourself, and dig into your town's history!

I am a Putnamaniac because I love to discover the stories of the past and the local history!
