Imagine Vincent Price saying this: "It was a dark and stormy night."
And really, it is a dark and stormy night - cold, wet, dreary, just blech in general.
What the heck is Putnamania going to be about today, I wondered to myself, walking around the grocery store, trying to remember what the heck it was that I needed to get.
As I came around the corner, I almost ran smack into a little soaking wet and muddy Pee Wee football player. He was still in his uniform, jersey almost down to the floor. He came up to my knees.
My first thought was, this poor kid - so drenched that he just must be miserable.
Then I looked at his face, which sported an ear to ear grin, and there was quite a bounce in his step. I imagine he saw himself as the next Wes Welker!
Hurray! There is my happy Putnamania feeling for the day! I threw my hands up in a touchdown signal, and said "SCORE" rather excitedly. I got a few looks, but what the heck, I gotta be me!
If you take a minute every day and look around, you will find something to take you to your own "Putnamania".
I am a Putnamaniac because the littlest wee PeeWee shared his happiness with me today!
