Running for those who couldn't today

Putnamania brought me to Pomfret this rainy morning for the ABC 5K.

Pomfret is another very close community, right next to Putnam. The ABC 5K  race began and continues in honor of one of their loved ones who lost a battle with cancer. On top of that I learned today of another young mother who lost her battle just this week. Her young son not only ran and got a medal, but was accompanied by a herd of his fellow Rectory School mates.

I took a picture of this runner's homemade shirt, which says it all.  "I run for those who can't".

What a great feeling of camaraderie to be with this group of all ages. I had the pleasure to jog along side a great gal, who also loves to get out everyday and jog for peace of mind, body & soul. Both she and her hubby ran today. We came in 1st & 2nd in our age group, and both joked afterwards, that we aren't getting faster, but getting older. Aren't we lucky for that!

Be sure to enjoy and treasure every moment you have here! This Putnamaniac sure will!
I am a Putnamaniac that will run (slowly) for those that can't, and I will enjoy every moment!
