Muskrat love on an early morning in my backyard!

A great benefit to my condo is that I live on the River.

The view is scenic, untouched nature in all seasons, and provides lots of entertainment for me.

As I lie in bed at night, the river streams on by, lulling me to sleep.

The first thing I do in the morning is grab my glasses and look out the window to see what is going on out there. Sometimes it is a deer, or a woodchuck, or some ducks splashing down in the river like it is a ride at the Woodstock Fair....sometimes it is nothing much more than whatever is growing during that particular season....

HOWEVER, just the other morning I was treated to two muskrats running along the river bed - first one way, then the other way. (My Poppa Moone would have said they were probably playing a game of "grab ass"...).

I was amazed to see them running back and forth - and I myself was running back and forth from the bedroom window to the living room window, so I didn't miss a moment of their frolics. Of course, they were probably looking up at me thinking they should keep running back and forth so they wouldn't miss a moment of me and my frolics!

Whenever I see a muskrat, I always think of the song that was oddly popular when I was a kid  - Muskrat Love by the Captain and Tennille. Check out this blast from the past on youtube here.  What are the chances a song like this became so popular??? But none the less, it sure was popular! I sang it many a time!

I hope you enjoy your home and the view from it as much as I do!

I am a Putnamaniac because sometimes early morning Muskrat Love goes on in my backyard!
