As the existing canine, Cero, is advancing in his years of service, an officer thought it may be time to start planning and fund raising for a new canine. These requests were answered and goals fulfilled by the ever generous townsfolk of Putnamania and surrounding areas within a month!
(Putnam police Officer Brian Castle and police dog partner Cero, left,
sit with Officer Mike Termini and his new partner, Aron.
The owner of Aron’s kennel gave the $6,200 puppy to the department for free).
In ONE MONTH enough was raised to support and train Aron, the new 4 footed officer, plus a car was donated for 3 years, plus the kennel donated the dog himself after learning of the great generosity of our area.
I find this amazing! But not really....Putnamaniacs always chip in and pull together for whatever need we have.
The Norwich Bulletin had a nice story on this. If you would like to check out all the details, click here.
I am a Putnamaniac because this town is tight knit and generous, and we love our 4 footed police officers!
