This Thursday morning, Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012, Quaddick State Park in Thompson, CT hosts the 36th Annual Turkey Dip.
If you don't live in Northeast CT, you might be thinking everyone gets together and samples some new chic sort of breakfast appetizer type of invention.
Nope!
At 8am a bunch of bold (crazy) folks jump into the Quaddick Reservoir and get wet...and invigorated... and cold! This craziness ensues for a good cause, and that is to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. Last year $25,000 was raised. WOW!
Thanksgiving morning can be a busy time, with preparations for the big meal later in the day, traveling to visit relatives, football games, and yet all these folks get out bright and early to have a little fun and support this cause that clearly is important to them. Cheers to them!
If you would like to sign up for the Turkey Dip and participate yourself, click here.
You are also welcome to just come and cheer on these chilly gobblers!
In any case, enjoy a healthy and fun Thanksgiving!
I am a Putnamaniac that can't wait for the big Turkey day, although I will not be dipping this old bod into the Quaddick!!!
