Last winter I visited Washington, DC for the first time, and enjoyed the War Memorials... as much as you can "enjoy" them due to their reasons for being. They are stunning and awe inspiring tributes to say the least.
However I am equally awed by the Veterans Memorial Park right here in Putnam. It is small, but it still packs a punch.
There are two World War I statues like this, listing all whom were lost in that war, although it is tough to see in this picture I took. The list is very long considering what a small area we live in:
A look at the Korean and Vietnam Memorials:
I drive and jog past this small Veterans' Memorial Park constantly, and still I sometimes forget that they are there, and why they are there.
I'm going to start paying attention EVERY time I pass from now on.
I am a Putnamaniac because I will thank and respect the Veterans and their Memorials every day!
