This morning over $16,000 was raised between 6am and 9am for the victims of the Prospect Street Fire.
Tragically the residents of those apartments lost everything they had, including the lives of two little girls, aged 9 months and 3 years old.
We are not a big community, nor are we the filthy rich.
But in spite of these stats, or maybe because of these stats, this community never fails to come to the aid of their friends and neighbors. Everyone chips in whatever they can when there is a need, and clearly it adds up. We all make a difference.
I have never been a part of such a community before, and I do not think there are a lot of other places like this on earth.
I am grateful to have found my home and such a loving and outstanding community here.
Although I joke about wanting to live on Gilligan's Island, I would not trade Northeast CT for anything else on this earth.
I am a Putnamaniac that loves the unity in our community ~ most definitely including U and I!
