Arc of Quinebaug Valley Rubber Duck Race! Cheer for your duck to win!!!

One of the silliest events to be a part of every year is the Arc of Quinebaug Valley's Rubber Duck Race.

You buy a duck for $5 and have a chance to win some awesome prizes.

This year the hilariousness will take place on Sunday, August 11, 2013, in the Quinebaug River that runs along side Putnam's Rotary Park.

A bucket loader is filled with tons of little yellow duckies.

It drives onto the bridge that goes over the Quinebaug River.

The ducks are dumped in and off they swim to the finish line.

Folks line the river banks (including me), cheering like crazy for the little rubber ducks!

What fun!!!

Some years the river is low, and it takes forever for the ducks to make it to the finish line.

Some years the wind is blowing so hard, it pushes the ducks away from the finish line.

No matter what, it is fun!

Will I see you standing on the river bank in Rotary Park and cheering along side this Putnamaniac this year? I sure hope so!

P.S. - the duck race is the same day as the Main Street Car Cruise this year, so you will have plenty of fun in downtown Putnam ~ guaranteed!

I am a Putnamaniac that will be cheering for my ducks at the 16th Annual Arc Rubber Duck Race!
