Football time! Local and big time, it is here!

It is getting lighter later each morning and darker earlier each night.

The bugs are chirping out majorly ~ and seem to get louder each night.

You know what all of this activity points to, don't you?

Yup - it is football season!

So although I am ready to cheer loudly each week for the New England Patriots, as you cheer loudly for (insert your team here), I definitely love all levels of competition available to us in Northeast CT.

This love starts with the practices we can hear with the younger WPTP players (and their cheerleaders singing "push 'em back, push 'em back, wayyyyy back") over in the fields on Recreation Park Rd.

It continues on with the local high schools combined team, The Quinebaug Valley Pride. Nothing beats being in the stands and the marching bands!

As the competition increases, so do the size and skills of the players, and so we also love the Green Valley Blackhawks. The games are so entertaining and inexpensive (just $5 for everyone over the age of 12. 12 & under are FREE). It is nice to get behind a local team like this, cheering in the home stands of the Old Killingly High School, 79 Westfield Ave, Killingly.

Get out and support your local teams as well as the pros.

I am a Putnamaniac that loves all levels of football ~ especially the local teams!
